Program Overview:
We are hiring for a Primary Care Physician role under the PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team) model. This position allows you to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality care for Veteran patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to a panel of Veterans in an outpatient group setting.
- Conduct initial histories and perform physical examinations, either in-person or via telehealth technology.
- Prescribe medications, order labs, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests within the defined scope of practice.
- Promote health and disease prevention through patient education and preventive measures.
- Respond to consultation requests, perform follow-ups, and create individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Educate medical residents and trainees while managing patient care in the outpatient setting.
Physicians in this role work full-time, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., ensuring patients receive consistent and accessible care.
Requirements
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications to apply for this opportunity:
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or an equivalent degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
- Full, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
- Completion of residency training approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Eligibility for faculty appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine, University of New Mexico, based on professional experience.
Selected applicants are required to complete security clearances, onboarding processes, and meet health-related requirements such as vaccinations for influenza and COVID-19.
