Program Overview:
The Regional International Security Officer (RISO) works within the Security and Office Services (SOS) division of MCC’s Department of Administration and Finance (A&F). Reporting to the Director of International Security and Programs, this position is integral to the safety and security of MCC’s operations overseas.

The selected candidate will directly support Resident Country Directors, Threshold Country Directors, and Regional Country Team Leads, supporting their security needs across various countries.
Position Details:
- Location: Washington, D.C., with significant international travel (up to 30%).
- Pay Band: MC-3B, equivalent to GS-14 within the federal pay scale.
- Possibility of reassignment overseas based on agency needs.
- Respond to overseas posts on short notice (less than 48 hours) during emergent situations.
Key Responsibilities

Eligibility and Requirements

Selective Placement Factor – Mandatory Experience:
Applicants must have prior experience working with or coordinating security efforts with the United States Department of State in an overseas capacity.
Specialized Experience Required:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 or MCC Pay Band 4A, including:
- Advising management on international security programs and operations across various locations.
- Assessing safety and security risks and recommending mitigation measures.
- Representing an organization in interagency committees or meetings to support security programs.
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Deployment and troubleshooting of GPS tracking systems.
- Experience using and evaluating open-source intelligence platforms.
- Fluency in French, including proficiency in speaking and writing (preferred but not required).
Salary and Benefits
